Day 5 in the books and not too shabby. Nursing a couple injuries so xfit was a little sketch. I wasn't able to complete the push press today (tweaked my wrist) and my ankle is still bothering me. May need to pay a visit to the Captain.
As for my meals it was another snoozefest. Breakfast was bacon and one egg; lunch was Shepherd's Pie and one banana/nut/date/carrot muffin; snack was an apple and nut butter. I did finally mix it up for dinner and had half an andouille sausage with an egg (muffin for dessert). It was a nice change of pace and may have it for breakfast tomorrow... Not fully prepared for tomorrow's lunch. Hope I don't end up in dangerous waters (and not the Cori Dangerous kind). Still staying strong and thirsty (when the heck will that end??). No real cravings today which was good - but the weekend looms and temptation abounds! For now - bring on Day 6!!
Yaz...Just throwing my two cents in here: A trick for cravings. Mix 2g of Glutamine (powder form) with some coconut milk or anything else you can think of to mix it in (paleo friendly of course)...I think you are going dairy free so heavy cream is out? Glutamine helps repair muscle damage, digestion and gives you an increase in your serotonin levels.
ReplyDeleteWhen we eat carbs, sugar and all that lovely stuff, they cause a rise in serotonin which gives us that wonderful high...
Give it a shot...literally. Take a shot glass, coconut milk, 2g of glutamine and shoot away until the cravings are gone:) Try and pair the glutamine with a fat source as it will slow the digestion and give you that "full" feeling for longer.
Sheena,
ReplyDeleteThat is a fantastic idea and I think I might try that. Question - can you do the same with creatine powder?
I like it. Where does one find Glutamine powder? I feel like an alchemist! Or at least part of a Harry Potter book with all these powder concoctions!
