Day 9 done and feeling good. Yesterday I spent over 6 hours in the kitchen making sure I was well prepared to stay straight this week. Not sure how restaurant chefs stay on their feet all day b/c mine were killing me by the end of the day! Ended up making another batch of banana/date etc muffins, some chicken pot pie w/crust made from almond flour (pictured) and some beef burgundy. For the chicken pot pie I thickened it with some arrowroot - not sure if that is paleo friendly or not... Also curious whether cooking with wine is allowed (sure hope so!).
All in all I am feeling good. Not hungry and no cravings. Can't ask for much more than that!
Okay here comes the paleo nazi.....
ReplyDeleteAccording to google, arrowroot is not paleo, it is a flour made from carbohydrates (tubers/potatoe) and zero protein.

Wah wah....but if it's just a small amount you should be okay.
Oh and good news, today is Day 9....unnggghhhhhh!
Yaz you on ON FUEGO. Too bad that whole pot pie is what Dingo needs for a snack. Share the recipe homeskillet. That looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteDamn! Called for 2 teaspoons I think - though certainly didn't need that much. Any suggestions on a good thickener in lieu of arrowroot?
ReplyDeleteLook at purchasing agar agar. It's made from sea vegetables so I believe it should be paleo if you are buying it organic. Though, do some research about the taste of agar agar, from what I can find online, the sea taste does not transmit to what you are cooking.
