It has been a few days since I posted my thoughts/updates (I can see the sadness in all your faces). I think after getting scolded for the Diet Coke I needed a few days in paleo time-out. Anyway, things have been going well. My breakfasts have consisted mostly of fruit and coffee and my lunches are fruit, carrots, trail mix, sliced deli meat and jerky. My dinners are usually really simple, a few grilled chicken breasts, turkey burger or a steak. Then I’ll throw in a piece of fruit or trail mix.
Dingo, after reading your post and some of the others about feeling sluggish and not feeling like you have as much strength as you should I can offer a little advice. I started paleo the same day I joined WCCF on 9/1/09 and I felt awful for 10 days. Couldn’t sleep, constantly had that weak feeling (sort of that feeling you get just right before you throw up) but after those 10 days it became much easier because my body adjusted and I got into a routine of eating.
I think what helped me turn the corner was that I realized that I could eat as much as I wanted as long as it was a paleo safe food. Other “diets” or ways of eating I think try and limit the amount of food you are taking in, I believe that paleo on the other hand does not lend itself to that theory. When I am going on strict paleo I always go by I can eat as much as I want as long it is under the paleo rules.
Now if I am wrong on that I’m sure I’ll get basted by the group…again…

ReplyDeleteNice to hear from you. I agree with the paleo and portion sizes issue. Paleo is a diet/lifestyle for grown ups. Meaning we have a rough idea of what we need to satiate our hunger and just eat that.
It's liberating not to count calories or fat grams.
My question to you Mr. 347 (or whatever your awesome FGB total was), are you eating enough? You're body fat is pretty low. That puts you in the "gain lean body mass/muscle" mode" which is tough. Just curious.
