Ashley's post lead to my exploring the whole9life site more, and stumbling upon the Whole30 plan. Seems Paleo to this novice. And though they say, "It's not hard," I beg to differ. I love a good challenge though, and they no-holds-barred throw down the gauntlet! My favorite line was, "Unless you physically tripped and your face landed in a box of donuts, there is no "slip". Ouch. Ended up downloading their success guide which broke everything out simply, and crystal clearly ("was that clear" ... "yes" ... "WAS THAT CLEAR" ... "crystal").

My goals for the challenge are:
1) break the sugar / carb addiction
2) retrain my taste buds to prefer real food instead of fake crap
3) sleep 8-9 hours (I tend to get only about 5/6 hours)
4) maintain hitting the box 5/6 times a week
Of course I would like to loose fat and weight while retaining muscles, but I think my focus needs to be on building healthy habits first. I like that whole30 commands you to stay off the scale. Numbers shouldn't define me or my success. Except the snatch ... and clean and jerk ... squats ... dead lift ...
3 ... 2 ... 1 ... Go!
Hey Anja, good luck with this challenge. It was hard for me. Can't wait to see your results and here about your progress.
ReplyDeleteAnja!
ReplyDeleteKeep up the positive attitude! I know you will do well!
Anja, you're awesome. You can do this.
ReplyDeleteThanks ladies. Making a shopping list for this week. Planning on succeeding instead of making excuses to fail.
ReplyDeleteWill be more of a challenge to start Monday as I'm super stressed about retreat / conference I'm running thursday to Saturday and have huge paper due on Tuesday. Stress = eating. That's an equation I want to demolish!
Just remember.... do your best... if you slip up or stress eat don't be too hard on yourself. Remember you are just starting this and there will be bumps in the road. Don't let that get to you :)
ReplyDeleteAmen. If you slip up just make sure your next meal is on track. It's all about improving - not necessarily perfection. I know you are going to do awesome!
