Like the Energizer Bunny...ish

I am still going strong(ish) on paleo. Lack of posting is simply from the hum drum boring direction my diet and food choices have taken. Gotta be honest - I am missing bread. And pasta. And BUTTER. Good lord do I want butter. Tonight I baked some paleo(ish) bread. It was an almond flour bread recipe from Elana's Pantry. I say "ish" b/c it did call for a teaspoon of agave nectar - which I have been successfully avoiding during this challenge. But alas, the desire for bread overcame me and in went the agave. It's all about finding balance for me and frankly, almond flour bread with agave is a far better choice than the real thing. So I toasted up a couple pieces (WITHOUT butter), tossed on some eggs and sausage and called it dinner. Rawk on. \nn/

As an update re protein - I have re-incorporated my protein shakes and am feeling much better. Like Mike, I simply couldn't EAT the amount of protein I needed (without resorting to dairy). It seems to work well for me though I will be curious to see my progress these last three weeks compared to the first three.

No other real cheats this week though next week is a different story. For the second time in a month I will be going to Tru. What kind of cruel twist of fate is that? Why did two Tru business dinners (i.e. not paid for out of my personal pocket) happen during this challenge? Gotta be honest - I am thinking of going with it - i.e. not saying "no grains, no dairy, no sugar, no fun." It's Tru after all and it really is a special experience. We'll see what happens but I know one thing - I am not going to beat myself up over it if I decide to put a dollop of creme fraiche on my caviar staircase. I will however beat myself up if I play beach volleyball in jeans beforehand - and ask to shower once I get there.
