Black is Better

I've been, twice, to Asado Coffee per Dole's recommendation.  I love the hand-poured stuff.  It's smooth.  When you burp it up later it's not acidic but quite nutty.  Darn you for turning me on to $3 regular coffee's Dole!

For those considering the Whole 9 workshop, I participated in their first online Whole 30 seminar in Jan 2010.  My candid opinion:   I had read all of their manifestos and was a reader of Urban Goes Diesel also.  Most of the info they relayed, I had heard from their former writings.  It was $100 and I didn't think it worth the cost.  However,  they claim they've added new things to their seminars and I'm sure it would be much more interactive with a real audience, rather than being an anonymous online entity sitting there just listening and typing.   I also think there is merit to meeting Dallas and Melissa as they begin their careers as Paleo consultants.  Melissa is an excellent communicator.  Dallas seems quite knowledgeable but came across as a bit of a nazi (and obvious badass).  They also are good in answering questions and emails, which I completely appreciate.  They are sold out to their cause and I respect that.

GIRLS ONLY:  At this time, like Cori recently,  I was getting my period every 10-16 days.  It sucked!  Whole 30 scratched their heads and dismissed that maybe I wasn't strict enough.  I completely was strict.  I didn't even eat sweet potatoes.  Got down to 14% body fat as proof.   I had cut grains 2.5 months previous.  I think the esters in the grains did something to regulate my hormones or something.  If I got my period 2x a month, it means I ovulated 2x per month.  Evolutionary speaking, I was one fertile mama, ready to populate the planet.  This was a viable explanation to Whole 30.  They just thought it was abnormal.  That's my only gripe with them; any result out of their normal body fat loss, perhaps missing a period, insulin regulation and it's not n=1 but that there was a possible adherence problem.  which was not the case.   I sent Robb Wolf and email but I'm sure it got lost in cyberspace among the millions of other emails he received.

Ok, just wanted to address those issues. Sounds like all you Rounder 2ers are doing well and feeling the changes. It's good to feel the difference.  Hipp is hitting big numbers and Dole is on commission at the Asado Cafe.

If you're looking to support a great organization and kids without coats go to the party at Belle Plaine Studios, Thurs at 6:30 for www.coatangels.com   It rocks. I'm actually skipping Oly to go (gasp!).  Yes, I'm that serious about it.

Hmm. Good feedback on Whole9 thingy. Already signed up ... hoping it's worth it. I'm so new at this though, figure it can't hurt to get the info!

And seriously hope that my body does not decide to torture me like that!
