Dingo learns a thing or two.

Not too much has changed since the last time I posted. Everything Yaz posted regarding Friday evening was very true, the steakhouse was great, the concert was amazing yadda yadda yadda.

That brings me to Saturday. Fight Gone Bad. I was hoping to break 300 this year and I actually ended up getting 274. That is 15 less than last year. I was shocked because I know I am in better shape now than I was a year ago. Naturally, I was upset with my performance and one could see it on my face. After the wod a lot people spoke with me about the paleo diet taking usually a week and a half to two weeks before your body adjusts. I never knew it took so long, then Beck had a conversation with me about the tiny amount of food I have been consuming. This fact had me befuddled. Too little food? What are you talking about? How can I be eating too little food? Well, I guess a guy my size needs to consume a lot of calories in order to run my body. I had no idea. Cheston told me I should be consuming approximately 3000 calories per day and that there is no way I am even close to that number. Also, apparently the reason why I have been getting very sleepy after lunch at school has nothing to do with me having a "food coma" from too much food but most likely a complete lack of energy and low blood sugar due to too little food. Damn. So now I have to figure out how to eat enough food to get my energy up and hopefully my performance. I really need to get my diet right. I need to figure out the caloric totals of certain staple foods like an egg, a piece of chicken, a steak, fruits and veggies etc. I then have to ramp up my consumption in order to see if this extra food intake will help me out. Will my energy go up? Will my performances get better? Will I burn more fat? Time will tell.

Last night I slipped a little and had some tequila (which I know is paleo friendly) with lemon flavored club soda. I thought I was in the clear but I guess I need to read labels more thoroughly. So I consumed a little bit of sugar. Damn. I was a little bit upset with myself but I will head to the gym to burn it off. So begins week two with a new focus on eating the proper amount of calories. I hope this works.
